FRANKFORT, Ky. (AP) — A $573,000 grant for an eastern Kentucky technical college will be used to train truck drivers in the region.

The grant is going to Hazard Community and Technical College from the Appalachian Regional Commission. The governor’s office says the program will annually train a total of 150 students for their commercial driver’s license.

The grant will cover the purchase of two new trucks and trailers and salaries for one full-time instructor and four part-time teachers.
