GLASGOW, Ky. — Jackson Arnett is stepping down as Barren County High School’s head football coach.

Arnett released a statement Thursday, and he specified he has taken another teaching position and coaching job. He did not specify where his new positions are.

“Being here has easily been the best thing I have ever done in my professional career,” Arnett said. “I have made new friends and coached the best kids I could have ever asked for.”

Arnett went on to say he met his fiancé while coaching at Barren County High School.

The decision to leave wasn’t an easy one for Arnett.

“Hours and hours of prayer and thought went into this decision and it was not made lightly or hastily,” Arnett said.

Arnett became Barren County’s coach after Jeff Griffith. He took the job in 2017.

“Once again I just want to let everyone know how much I think of them and how much you all have meant to me,” Arnett said. “If you ever have a question about anything. EVER. Don’t hesitate to call me or send me a message.”
