GLASGOW, Ky. — Justin Stinson has been named the newest principal of Glasgow Middle School.

The Glasgow Middle School Site Based Decision Making Council held a meeting Wednesday and announced Stinson as the principal. Stinson is a current assistant principal at Glasgow High School, and he’ll replace Regina Murphy at GMS.

“I truly believe that this is absolutely the best school district in the entire school community in the state of Kentucky,” Stinson said. “There’s no doubt in my mind about that.”

Stinson holds 18 years of educational experience as a classroom social studies teacher, girl’s basketball coach and administrator.

Stinson played a role in supervision, administering student discipline and conducting teacher evaluation during his six-year tenure as an assistant principal, according to Glasgow Independent Schools.

“You know, the first thing, and the most important thing, is always going to be just to listen and to learn and build those relationships,” Stinson said. “This is a great school already. Mrs. Murphy has done a fabulous job. It’s a great district with a great vision already.”

Stinson is a native of Gamaliel in Monroe County. He resides in Glasgow with his wife, Heather, and their four children: Hadley, Canaan, Merritt and Landry. Stinson’s children are 11, eight, five and two, respectively. His wife is also a teacher at Highland Elementary School.

Stinson assumes his role as principal on July 1.
