Jenny Porter Hodges

Jenny Porter Hodges, age 92, passed away July 10th at her home in Center, Kentucky.  She was the daughter of the late Willie Jessie and Hallie Williams Porter and had one sister the late Gertrude Porter James (Pete).

Jenny was an avid reader and lifelong educator having taught in the local school system and taught a Sunday School class at Center United Methodist Church where she was the oldest member having joined the church over 69years ago. She also served on the Metcalfe County Library Board for many years.

Her favorite hobby was that of gardening, as evidenced by her “Southern Living” garden which she tended in her back yard.  She was a charter member of the Metcalfe County Garden Club.

Jenny was also passionate about Genealogy and researched and shared information about ancestors with family and friends.

She was married to the late Fraser Hodges for 59 years and has two daughters;

Nancy Hodges Steele (Glyn) and Anne Foster Hodges (Sonny Foster) and one granddaughter Whitney Steele Ball, DPT (Matt).

A Celebration of Life Service for family and friends will be held on Sunday July 18, at 3:00 pm. The service will be held at the Cassady Cemetery on Herbert Hodges Road in Center, Kentucky.
