Project to beautify Interstate 65 exits making progress

By Mark Buckles Dec 28, 2021 | 12:20 PM

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. (AP) — A project to beautify Interstate 65 exits in Bowling Green is making progress as contractors installed lettering on stone walls intended to invite travelers into the community.

The Daily News reports signs that say “Warren County Kentucky” and “Western Kentucky University” were installed before Christmas and another that says “Bowling Green” is planned.

Operation Pride Chairman Johnny Webb says the exit will eventually include flags and lighting to make it eye-catching and inviting. Webb has led efforts to beautify the exits as way to attract more travelers to stop in the southern Kentucky city.

Trees and flowers have also been planted at five exits.
