GLASGOW — Candidates’ positions on the primary ballot will be determined during statewide ballot drawings planned Thursday.
The events are scheduled across the state at 2 p.m. local time. Barren County’s draw will be held inside the Barren Fiscal Courtroom, which is on the third floor of the Barren County Government Center. The public is allowed to attend.
A primary election is used to determine which partisan candidates appear on the General Election ballot. Many partisan candidates run for office, but only one from each is placed on the November ballot.
Some offices do not have more than one candidate. Those races in Barren County include PVA, County Clerk, Jailer and County Surveyor.
The primary election is scheduled May 17, 2022.
