FRANKLIN — Transportation officials say a multi-vehicle crash has closed a portion of Interstate 65 near the state line.
The five-vehicle crash happened sometime after 5 a.m. in Tennessee. State Police confirmed the crash involves a fatality.
A secondary crash happened just south of Exit 6, which is near Franklin, Ky. Little detail was provided about either crash.
“Motorists should use caution if approaching this area,” the KYTC said. “An alternate route should be taken if possible.”
It’s unclear how long the roadway will be blocked. Traffic is at a standstill, according to social media posts from bystanders.
