Clyde Alexander Mosley, Jr. died Saturday July 2nd at Priddy Manor Assisted Living in King, NC. Clyde was born on April 2nd, 1927 to the late Johanna Hine and Clyde Alexander Mosley in Forsyth County. Clyde attended University of Louisville in Kentucky and worked at Struck Construction Company, Breeko Industries, Gray Construction Company, and Ernest Simpson Construction Company all in Kentucky. He and his wife, Anist, moved to Winston-Salem in 1984, where Clyde worked at Wilson-Covington Construction Company and Motsinger Concrete Company. He retired at 82 years of age.
Clyde was an accomplished wood worker. He enjoyed the outdoors and camping with his family. He was a member of the Gideons International and Stephens Ministries through Home Moravian Church. Clyde was a veteran of both WWII and the Korean conflict, serving in the U.S Navy.
Clyde is preceded in death by his daughter, Barbara Elaine Mosley, a brother, Donald Mosley, and his parents. He is survived by his wife of 70 years, Anist Elizabeth Tucker Mosley, three daughters: Juliana M. Gill and husband John, Christine M. Terry and husband William, Suzanne M. Vincent and husband John; two grandchildren: Andrew Gill, David Gill and wife Melanie, and one great-granddaughter, Lorelei Gill.
A graveside service with military honors will be held at Salem Moravian Graveyard (God’s Acre) on Thursday at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Andrew Heil officiating. Social distancing is encouraged for those in attendance. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Gideons International, The Gideons International Processing Center, P.O.
