GLASGOW — Entertain Glasgow will host its next installment of its summer concert series on Friday evening. Each performance is held every fourth Friday of the summer.

Thunderstorm Artis will headline the show, which begins at 7 p.m. The Locomotives, a local band, will open for him at 7 p.m. and he is expected to take the stage at 8:15 p.m. The event is free to the public.

“He was third on The Voice in 2020,” said April Russell, co-chairperson of the Entertain Glasgow committee.

Thunderstorm Artis is a contemporary artist and plans to perform an acoustic set during the concert this evening. He has performed with Train, Entertain Glasgow said.

The east side of the Square was closed around noon. The stage and a VIP area was erected sometime Friday morning in front of Glasgow City Hall. The north and south sides of the Glasgow Square were expected to close around 3 p.m., according to a schedule published online.

The western part of Glasgow’s downtown square, which connects North and South Race Street, will remain open to traffic. Signage is in place for detours in the area.

Food vendors will be available as early as 5 p.m. Officials said the concert is expected to end by 9:30 p.m.
