David Caudel

Nov 15, 2022 | 3:14 PM

David Lynn Caudel, 66, of Glasgow died peacefully November 7, 2022 at Vanderbilt University Medical Center following a brief illness. A lifelong resident of South-Central Kentucky, David was born in Barren County to the late Mr. and Mrs. Billy Joe and Margaret Bale Caudel of Seymour, KY and continued living in the Glasgow area after graduating from Western Kentucky University. He retired from RR Donnelley/LSC Communications in 2020 after 42 years of employment. Whether enjoying the sunshine, working in the yard, or watching sports, he always seemed to do it with a smile. He lived a lifetime of helping others through volunteering and coaching for many years, helping to foster the development of our youth in the Glasgow community. But what Dave enjoyed the most was spending time with his grandchildren. Dave’s kindness and generosity are well known by many, yet he never boasted and that’s what made his heart so special.

David is survived by his wife of 24 years, Pam Caudel of Glasgow. He is also survived by his brother Tommy Caudel (Felecia) of Glasgow, his daughter, Brooke Caudel Byrd (Rusty) of Louisville, his son, Brian Joseph Caudel (Lacy) of Denver, CO, his step-daughter Alison Price Goad (Daniel) of Bowling Green, and his step-sons Patrick Myers Gides (Samantha) of Cave City and John Tyler Gides (Katy) of Boise, ID. He is survived by eight grandchildren, Boone Garner and Archer Perry Byrd of Louisville, KY, Bennett Mosby and Sloane Louise Caudel of Denver, CO, Isla Jolie Gides of Cave City, and Dylan Thomas Goad, Abby Danielle Sodoma (Clay), Erika Paige Goad (fiancé Taylor) of Bowling Green, as well as several nieces, nephews, and extended family.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Billy Joe and Margaret Caudel.

A celebration and remembrance of Dave’s life for all friends and family will be held on Saturday, December 10, 2022, between the hours of 10:30am – 1:00pm at The Ole French Restaurant, 255 Perkins Road, Glasgow, KY,

In lieu of flowers, Memorial Contributions may be made to the St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital or Barren River Animal Welfare Association (BRAWA)
