DEFRIES, Ky. — A Hart County man died Sunday afternoon after a tree limb fell on him.
The Hart County Sheriff’s Office responded to the incident near 480 Swamp Hollow Road in the Defries community around 5 p.m. Police arrived at the scene and found a large tree limb had fallen onto a farming tractor.
A male subject later identified as Brian Sexton was found on the tractor. A witness at the scene said he was helping Sexton to remove the limb, which was hanging over the road and preventing travel. The limb apparently collapsed from the tree and hit Sexton’s head and upper body. He died at the scene.
The Hart County Sheriff’s Office was assisted at the scene by Hart County EMS and the Hardyville Fire Department.
