Chimney fire erupts at Glasgow home

Jan 30, 2023 | 1:55 PM

GLASGOW — Fire officials said a fire broke out at a home along Old Munfordville Road on Sunday.

Flames were coming from the chimney of the home at 1891 Old Munfordville Road. Fire officials called it a “flue fire.”

A dry chemical extinguisher and ventilation fan were used to extinguish the fire. Flames had extended to the framing around the flue and onto the home’s roof, according to a news release.

The cap and framing was removed from the roof area and the fire was extinguished. No fire extension was noted and fire crews cleaned the area of debris.

The Glasgow Fire Department was at the scene for about an hour. No injuries were noted.
