GLASGOW – Police in Barren County are investigating a single-vehicle accident that resulted in a fatality.
On Friday afternoon, the Barren County Sheriff’s Office responded to an injury accident around the 5600 block of Old Bowling Green Road (HWY 1297).
A press release said, Kent Blackburn, 35, of Park City, was operating a 2002 Jeep Grand Cherokee traveling eastbound. Blackburn’s vehicle exited the right side of the roadway causing him to lose control of the vehicle. The vehicle continued off the roadway several times before striking a ditch causing the vehicle to overturn onto its top in the roadway before coming to a complete stop.
Blackburn was transported by the Barren Metcalfe EMS to TJ Samson Hospital where he later died from injuries sustained in the accident.
The investigation is ongoing by the Barren County Sheriff’s Office.
