Robert Wesley “Bob” Mayhew, 86, of Arden, NC passed away Thursday, June 1, 2023 at CarePartners Solace Center in North Carolina. The Hartford, KY native was a licensed general contractor and owner and CEO of Mayhew Construction Corp. Bob received his Bachelor’s degree from Bowling Green College of Commerce, his Master’s in Science from the University of Tennessee as well as his Master’s in Business from Oklahoma City University and served in the North Carolina National Guard. Bob was a Methodist and firmly believed in God, family and country. He was a son of the late Roy Lester Mayhew and Katie Johnson Mayhew.
He is survived by numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by a brother: Samuel Mayhew and 3 sisters: Betty Lou Edwards, Virginia Hammons and Ernestine Martin.
Graveside service will be 12:30 p.m. Sunday, June 25, 2023 at Pleasant Ridge Cemetery with Bro. Shane Britt officiating. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to the Shriners Children’s Hospital (shrinerschildrens.org). Goad Funeral Home is in charge of the local arrangements.
