1-3-2013- Barren County Jail holds its first graduation ceremony for inmates. The staff of the BC Jail and the Bowling Green Technical College offered the opportunity as part of rehabilitation.

1-10-2013 – A water main break on Pritchardsville Road December 30 caused the shutdown of the main line from Lucas to Glasgow in order to make repairs, making a memorable New Year’s observance.

Five local students are awarded Touchstone Energy Scholarships – Kelsey Greer, Megan Holly, Sarah Pedigo, Holly Spradlin and Aimee Young.
Bree Glover, Glasgow Lady Scottie has acquired a triple double – 15 points, 10 rebounds and 11 blocks in a Lady Scottie Victory December 19th against Oldham County.
The First Arrival in Barren County in 2013 was Addison Jane Coffey.
1-24-2013 – Barren County Schools receive the largest educational grant ever received by the school – $2.8 Million.
Barren County Calendar Girl Pageant was held for the 2013 year. The Calendar/Cover Girl was Paige London.
Monroe County Lady Falcons win 4th Region All ‘A’ tournament.
Taylor McMurtrey was Metcalfe County School winner and one of the state’s finalists in the 2012 Wendy’s High School Heisman Program.

New GHS dedication will be held February 3 at 2 p.m.
WKU-Glasgow is celebrating 25 years. The school re-opened in 1988, 115 years after Glasgow Normal School opened, which ultimately became WKU.
Ribbon cutting held at Stellar House, a new restaurant on N. Race Street behind the Fine Arts Bistro.
Chris Martin Alumni Game was a slam dunk success.
