Wendell Brown is hired to coach Allen County Scottsville boys’ basketball. He recently resigned his coaching duties at Barren County High School.

Park City State Bank is robbed yesterday morning and thieves appear to have netted $5-6000. The bank’s four employees, Joe Perkins, Evelyn Bailey, Jane Davidson and Roger Martin were unharmed.

Plans are announced to open “The Fish Net” — Glasgow’s first young adult Christian oriented gathering places. Richard Spears is the manager.
“Harvey” opens for the 7ᵗh season at Horse Cave Theater. Actor Walter Rhodes is the title character.

June Dairy Day Festival is held at the Strader Farm near Hiseville.

Robert S Follis retires as office manger of the Barren County ASCS, having served for the past 25 years.

Glasgow/Barren County Jaycees Fair will be June 20-25 at the Barren County Speedway on Hwy. 68-80, west of Glasgow.
21 Barren County Historic Sites join the National Register of Historic Places, 5 in the city and 16 in the county area. City : First National Bank, Morris Building, Barren County Board of Education, First Presbyterian Church, and Third National Bank. The Strikers, a recently formed women’s bowling team from Glasgow will take part in the WIBC National tournament to be
held in Las Vegas. Members are Vivian Woodcock, Maxene Underwood, Margene Birge, Mary Lewis, Pat Zackery, and Arlene Lockhart.
