Ione Evonne Porter, age 86, of Fountain Run passed away peacefully Thursday, September 21, 2023 at Skyline Medical Center in Nashville, TN.
She was born February 26, 1937 in Pequot Lakes, Minnesota to the late William Kolbuss and Marion (Bitney) Kolbuss. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Betty Gilchrist and Alice Dibble; and her grandson, Donnie Layne Thrasher.
Ione never met a stranger and had a genuine love for everyone she met, especially her family. She enjoyed in her free time doing crossword puzzles and jigsaw puzzles. She was a beloved daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother and friend to all.
Her memories will be cherished by her husband of 50 years, Rodney Porter; her children, Randy Nordlund (Annie), Joe Nordlund (Lisa), Cindy Horton (Doug), and Brandi Porter (Steve Gaedke); a sister, Dona Weaver; brothers, Gerald Kolbuss and James Kolbuss; grandchildren, Cortni Nelson (Brad), Rachael Quintero (Ray), Heidi Shintaku, Gianna Garrett, Breeanna Roach (Ishmael Ramos), Kyle Garrett (Christina), Dale Roach (Ashley), Mason Medina, and Monet Medina; several great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews also survive.
A Celebration of Ione’s life will be held at a later date.
Arrangements have been entrusted to J.C. Kirby & Son Lovers Lane Chapel, Bowling Green.
