(November 1, 2023) Glasgow, KY — The T.J. Community Mission Foundation has announced a new capital project, Samsonville Square, an approximately 3200 square feet “REAL Therapy” simulation clinical space located at the T.J. Rehabilitation Services clinic in Glasgow. “REAL Therapy” stands for Realistic Environment Applied Learning and is a community simulation environment of ready-made functional therapy tasks available for patients and clinicians from the moment they enter the room.
Samsonville Square will feature 12 real world simulation modules such as a fully functioning kitchen, grocery store, and virtual reality car simulator, among other things. Each year the T.J. Rehabilitation Services program has more than 25,000 patient encounters. Clinicians from all three rehab specialty lines will use the space; physical therapy, occupational therapy, and speech therapy. The Rehabilitation Services staff will be able to use Samsonville Square with all patients from pediatrics through the oldest patients.
The campaign to build Samsonville Square will raise $750,000 and looks to engage families, businesses, and organizations throughout southcentral Kentucky through donations of any amount in the effort to provide this life changing facility for our region.
Randy Burns, Executive Director of the T.J. Community Mission Foundation stated that with Samsonville Square, they will be able to impact the lives of thousands of patients each year of ALL ages, facing a litany of challenges. Burns added “It truly is going to be a beautiful addition to the services provided by T.J. Regional Health and the board of directors of the T.J. Community Mission Foundation are thrilled to be a part of making it a reality.”
