Michael “Mikey”Ray Sims, age 47, of Leitchfield, KY, passed away Wednesday, (November 15, 2023) at his home.
He was born on April 29, 1976 in Elizabethtown, KY, the son of David Murrell and Ann Langley Sims.
Mikey was a member of the Fire Brigade at Publisher’s Printing and more recently worked in maintenance at Altec. He enjoyed working on cars and attending car shows, spending time outdoors, fishing, playing video games with his son, riding four wheelers and spending time with his family, especially his nieces and nephews. He was a member of the St. Paul Catholic Church.
He is survived by his wife of 19 years, Jolene Hawkins Sims of Leitchfield; a son, Tristan Clemons of Leitchfield; three brothers, David Sims (Gina) of Leitchfield, Marty Sims (Angela) of Louisville, KY, Gary Sims, (Liz) of Shepherdsville, KY; a sister, Tami Salmon (Billy) of Falls of Rough, KY; and his parents, David Murrell and Ann Sims of Leitchfield. Several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and great-nieces& nephews also survive.
He was preceded in death by an infant child; a sister, Sandy Risinger; his maternal grandparents, Mary Rose & Joe Langley; and his paternal grandparents, Thomas & Gladys Sims.
Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, (November 21, 2023) at the St. Paul Catholic Church. Father Gary Clark will be officiating. Burial will be in the St. Paul Cemetery.
Visitation will be at the St. Paul Catholic Church from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. on Monday and from 9:00 a.m. Tuesday until time of services.
