Allen County Sheriff’s Deputies were attempting to make a traffic stop on Thursday, February 1 around 12:25pm on the Apple Grove Road near the new Glasgow Road intersection. The suspect, 45 year old Bill Cook began fleeing in his vehicle northbound on Smiths Grove Road.
During the pursuit, Cook made multiple attempts to stripe the deputies cruisers with his vehicle and he finally came to a stop at the intersection of Port Oliver Circle and Meador Port Oliver Road. At this time Cook fled from his vehicle and entered a nearby structure where he was taken into custody without further incident.
Cook is a suspect in multiple theft cases from surrounding counties.
A search warrant was issued on the property where he resides and multiple stolen firearms were recovered. Cook was arrested and taken to the Allen County Detention Center.
