Kentucky State Police Investigates Trooper-Involved Shooting in Harlan County

The Kentucky State Police (KSP) Critical Incident Response Team (CIRT) has been requested by KSP Post 10 in Harlan to investigate an trooper-involved shooting that occurred on March 2, 2024, at approximately 10:14 p.m. EDT. KSP CIRT arrived on the scene and began an investigation into the incident.

A male subject was pronounced deceased by the Harlan County Coroner inside a residence within the Teetersville community.

No other injuries were reported.

KSP has statewide jurisdiction and investigates officer-involved shootings throughout the Commonwealth as requested by local, state, and federal law enforcement agencies.
