James “Shorty” Clayborn Geron, of Smiths Grove, Kentucky passed away Friday, March 22, 2024, at his residence. He was born October 20,1954, in Glasgow, Kentucky to the late Ed Clayborn Geron and Eva (Walker) Emmitt. Shorty was the owner and operator of “Shorty’s Pay Lake” for twenty-four years.
Shorty is survived by his mother, Eva (Walker) Emmitt; three sons, James Geron, Anthony Geron, and Josh Geron; his daughter, Angie Geron; and three sisters, Sandra Gillenwater (Perry), Kathy Hughes (Jody), and Margie Ford; fourteen grandchildren; two great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Shorty was preceded in death by his father, Ed Clayborn Geron; his brother, Eddie Geron; and his sister, Joyce Slade; and great grandparents, Jimmy Frankline Walker, Bessie (Fishburn) Walker, Leonard Heron Geron, and Fannie May Geron.
