Excitement is mounting in Park City as plans for a groundbreaking 17-acre development project, featuring a new amphitheater and a nostalgic drive-in movie theater, continue to take shape.
The ambitious undertaking, poised to transform the city’s entertainment landscape, promises to offer residents and visitors unparalleled experiences in outdoor entertainment. The project has been a focus of the city’s since commissioners Angelo and Donna Scavo floated the idea of the project in Summer of last year. with local officials and residents alike coming together to see venture materialize.
Park City Mayor, Larry Poteet, spoke on the collaboration between himself and his peers that eased the arduous task of constructing the addition.
Set against the picturesque backdrop of Park City’s natural beauty, the development project aims to create a dynamic hub for cultural events, live performances, and cinematic experiences. With construction well underway, Park City employee, Angela Briggs, summed up the spirit of the project for WCLU.

H&H Construction Company, a family-owned local business has been hard at work developing the sizeable area, Anthony Huff, who has worked on the project since development started, noted several challenges in regard to the area’s prolific cave systems and dense forest. With the expertise that comes from years of experience, Huff and his colleagues navigated through those challenges and is optimistic about the project’s final phases.
In addition to the amphitheater, the development project includes the revival of a beloved tradition with the introduction of a drive-in movie theater. Combining nostalgia with modern technology, the drive-in theater will offer moviegoers a unique cinematic experience under the stars. Complete with ample parking space, the drive-in theater is expected to evoke fond memories while creating new ones for audiences of all ages.
