Kentucky State Police Post 7 in Richmond received a call from the McKee Police Department requesting investigative assistance regarding a construction worker involved in an accident on KY – 587 in McKee at the Jackson County Middle School on Tuesday, May 21 just before 11:15 AM. .
KSP Troopers and Detectives responded to the scene. The initial investigation revealed James D. Anderson, 48 years old, from Stanton, KY, was unloading storm drain tiles from a low-boy equipment trailer when he fell off and struck the ground. Jackson County Emergency Services transported Mr. Anderson to St. Joe’s Hospital in London, KY, where life-saving measures were performed; however, they were unsuccessful, and he succumbed to those injuries. Mr. Anderson was pronounced deceased by the Laurel County Coroner’s Office. Foul play is not suspected.
The ongoing investigation is being conducted by KSP Post 7 Trooper Starlin Hacker, with assistance from KSP personnel, the McKee Police Department, and Jackson County EMS.
