Martha Ellen Miller-Webb, age 72, passed away peacefully in Bowling Green, Kentucky on June 16, 2024. She was born in Pasadena, Texas to the late Stiles A. Miller and Margaret Louise (Werne) Miller on February 26, 1952.
Martha grew up on a farm in Calhoun, Kentucky before moving to Bowling Green to attend Western Kentucky University. She graduated in 1975 from WKU with a dual Bachelor’s degree in both Biology and Anthropology. Martha’s career was split between serving Minit Mart and Houchens as the Fuel Manager.
After multiple battles with cancer she became very involved with the American Cancer Society’s Relay for Life. Her dedication spanned many years, raising thousands of dollars for the cause. Martha was a cherished member of the Saint George Island Tribe and would flock to her favorite beach with the Tribe every May.
In her spare time Martha loved to cross-stitch, garden, spend time with her grandchildren, and also her beloved pets. Her greatest passion was her Card Brigade. Over the years she sent out thousands of cards to people to share words of encouragement and love during hard times. Martha’s unwavering support and desire to help others will be her legacy.
Survivors include her husband of 43 years, Michael G. Webb; daughter Lacy Hughes and her husband Matthew; 3 grandchildren Avery Hughes, Bellamy Hughes, Brody Hughes; brother Stiles Miller and wife Joy; sister Donna Miller. Several nieces, nephews, and a host of other extended family and friends also survive.
Visitation will be from 4 until 8 p.m. Wednesday, June 19, and Thursday from 9 a.m. until 12 p.m. at the J.C. Kirby & Son Lovers Lane Chapel. Funeral service will be conducted at 12 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery. Expressions of sympathy may be made to the American Cancer Society.
