Connie Jo Worcester, age 73, of Leitchfield, KY, passed away Monday, (June 17, 2024) at Baptist Health Hardin in Elizabethtown, KY.
She was born on March 27, 1951 in Massachusetts, the daughter of the late Frank England and Ruth Arlene Peazey King.
Connie lived in Connecticut most of her life, then moved to Kentucky where she met Charles Higdon, with whom she was together for 22 years. She enjoyed playing Bingo, going fishing and playing with her animals. Connie didn’t have kids of her own, but she loved Charles’ kids like they were her own. She also treated her two dogs, Six Pack & Sammy, like they were her kids. Family was everything to Connie and she made sure to speak with her sisters from Connecticut anytime she had the opportunity.
She is survived by the love of her life, Charles Higdon; three step-children, Charles Thomas Noah Higdon, Samantha Gordon (Bruce), and Charles Jr. Higdon; 11 grandchildren Noah, Hailey & Kyle Higdon (and their mother, Emily Clemons), Hunter, Beezus, Jaydan, & Dixie Meredith, Sophia Gordon, and Rose, Patty & Samantha Parker; two sisters, Barbara Jone Cardnelli and Dianne Goodrum. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by her step-daughter, Amy Parker.
Funeral services will be at 12:00 p.m. Wednesday, (June 26, 2024) at the Dermitt Funeral Home in Leitchfield. Burial will be in Leitchfield Memory Gardens.
Visitation will be at the Dermitt Funeral Home from 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday and from 9:00 a.m. Wednesday until time of services.
