Elizabeth Ann “Ticket” McGown, 79, of Bowling Green, KY passed away Friday, June 28, 2024 at her residence with her family by her side. Ticket was born on December 10, 1944 in Dallas, TX. She was preceded in death by her husband, Phil McGown, and her parents John and Charlotte Day.
Ticket was a retired teacher having taught at Bowling Green City Schools for over 50 years. She was a graduate of Western Kentucky University earning her Master’s Degree in Education. She was a faithful member of The Presbyterian Church on State Street.
Ticket was an avid bridge player, loved gardening (especially her banana trees), thrifting, working with children, floating in the pool, walking three miles a day, going to the beach, and listening to audiobooks. Her favorite motto was “Live each day to the fullest”.
Ticket is survived by her three daughters, Michelle Humphrey (Stephen), Melissa “Liz” Bremner (Sean), Melanie “Mel” Park (Chris); seven wonderful grandchildren, Ellie Humphrey Coolidge (Matt), Olivia and Mary Claire Humphrey, Maggie and PJ Bremner, Harrison and Hudson Park; One sister, Mary Day Fleenor (John) and many nieces and nephews.
Memorial services will be Monday, July 1, 2024 at 4:00 pm at J.C. Kirby & Son Lovers Lane Chapel. Visitation will be Monday, 12:00 pm until time of services at the funeral home. The family chose cremation.
