Martha Faye (Mitchell) Hill, 81, of Bowling Green died on July 1, 2024 at Hospice of Southern Kentucky. Martha was the daughter of the late Elvis Gradie Mitchell and Mary Virginia Henderson Mitchell. She is survived by her husband, Glen.
Martha was a 1960 graduate of Allen County High School and the Bowling Green Business University. She had 30 years experience in Real Estate and was Broker licensed for 28 years. She obtained the designations of ABR, GRI and CRS. She has been listed in Who’s Who of American Real Estate. She is Past President of the Realtor’s Association of Southern KY.
Martha had been a small business owner of lamp specialty shops, The Shade Tree and Shades of Elegance. She had been involved in several organizations, including HANDS, Inc.
Prior to her illness, Martha was known to be a fantastic cook, and was always eager to share her delicious Southern cooking (but not her recipes.) She had a passion for shopping and traveling, never passing the opportunity to explore a fashion outlet mall. She was a proud (and loud) UK men’s basketball fan. She often watched news channels on tv and always welcomed a spirited political debate.
Martha is survived by two sons, Terry (Meshawn) of Dubai, United Arab Emirates and Brent (Jennay) of Alvaton, and daughter Sonya (Craig) of Alvaton. She is also survived by three grandchildren, Brandyn (Samantha) of Emmaus, PA, Zach (Jenifer) of Cibilo, TX, and Jessica (Clint) of Elkton, KY; two great granddaughters, Leslie and Evalynn; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her sister, Janice Mitchell Smith and brother-in-law David Darrell Smith.
Services will be held on Saturday, July 6, 2024 at Noon at the J.C. Kirby & Son Funeral Chapel on Broadway with burial at Bowling Green Gardens. Visitation will begin prior to from 9:00am until the time of service.
