Joellen Brown

Joellen Brown, 74, of Tompkinsville, KY passed away Friday, July 5th, at Monroe County Medical Center surrounded by her family.

Joellen was born in Tompkinsville, KY on December 22, 1949, a daughter of the late Edith (Sheffield) and Isham Tooley.

Joellen was married to James T. Brown on November 26, 1969. He preceded her in death on December 4, 2011.

She worked at Stitches for 33 years. Joellen loved quilting and was a member of White Oak Ridge Missionary Baptist Church.

Joellen is survived by three daughters, Leann Thomas, and husband, John, of Glasgow, KY; Sherry Jo Walker, and husband, Gary, of Tompkinsville, KY; Erika Biggerstaff, and husband, John, of Tompkinsville, KY; a son, J.D.  Brown, and wife, Alicia, of Tompkinsville, KY; 7 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.

Joellen is also survived by a sister, Janice Russell, of Tompkinsville, KY; a brother, Bro. Jerry Tooley, and wife, Alice, of Owensboro, KY; brother-in-law, Bobby Joe Biggerstaff, of Tompkinsville, KY, and sister-in-law, Donnie Tooley of Tennessee.

Other than her husband and parents, she is preceded in death by a brother, Jackie Tooley; sister, Judy Biggerstaff and brother-in-law, Bobby Russell.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, July 8th at Yokley Trible Funeral Home in Tompkinsville, KY, with burial to follow at White Oak Ridge Cemetery.

Visitation is Sunday, 3-8 p.m., and Monday, 8:00 a.m. until service time at 2:00 p.m. at Yokley Trible Funeral Home.
