Mr. Wayne Kennedy

Mr. Wayne Kennedy “Bulldog”, age 90, of Bowling Green, KY, passed away on Tuesday, July 09, 2024, at his residence.

Wayne was born April 7, 1934, in Columbus, IN to the late Martin Wayne Kennedy, Sr. and the late Thelma Louise Crisp. He is also preceded in death by his son, Chris Kennedy, two brothers, Eugene Kennedy and Ron Kennedy, and a granddaughter, Jennifer Kennedy.

He is survived by his son, Steve Kennedy (Janette) of Smiths Grove, KY; two daughters, Cheryl Stallings (Robin) of Dover, FL, and Lisa Howery (Steve) of Indianapolis, IN; one sister, Barbara York of Largo, FL; nine grandchildren, Jeremy Owens, Amy Howdyshell, Kristen McAvoy, Stephanie Meeks, Monica Taylor, Clint Taylor, Jamie Cartright, Cassie Rodgers, Sam Kennedy; twenty-two great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

Wayne was a former high school basketball referee and a former little league and senior league coach. He was an avid WKU fan and ticket holder in basketball and football and he loved Nascar. He owned and operated Kennedy Chevron for 15 years. Wayne loved to fish and float on his pontoon on Barren River Lake.

Funeral services are scheduled to be conducted on Tuesday, July 16, 2024, at 12:00 noon at J.C. Kirby & Son Lovers Lane Chapel with burial to follow in Bowling Green Gardens Cemetery.

Visitation with the family will begin on Monday, July 15, 2024, at 4:00pm until 8:00pm and again on Tuesday at 10:00am until the time of service at noon.

In lieu of flowers, the family request expressions of sympathy take the form of donation be made to Hosparus Health of Barren River. Envelopes will be provided at the funeral home.
