Michael Davis has been appointed as the new Director of Elementary Instruction for Barren County Schools, effective July 22.
Davis, a seasoned educator and administrator within the district, has been contributing to Barren County Schools since 2006. His career includes roles as a teacher at Eastern Elementary, assistant principal at Barren County Middle, and principal positions at both Red Cross Elementary and Barren County Middle School. His extensive experience in various educational roles equips him with the knowledge and skills necessary for his new position. A native of the area, Davis graduated from Barren County High School in 2001.
He pursued higher education at Western Kentucky University, where he earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Exceptional Education in 2006 and a Master’s Degree in School Administration in 2012. Furthering his qualifications, Davis completed his Rank I Supervisor of Instruction from the University of the Cumberlands in 2021. Superintendent Amy Irwin expressed confidence in Davis’s capabilities, stating, “With his extensive experience and commitment to excellence, we are confident that Michael will support and foster an environment of academic excellence.
He is committed to educational innovation and will continue to move our district forward.” Davis also shared his enthusiasm for the new role, saying, “I am excited about stepping into this new role. Barren County Schools has a strong tradition of providing innovative, high-quality instruction. I am committed to supporting our administrators and staff as they work to support the academic success of each child they serve.”
As Davis prepares to begin his new position, the district anticipates continued progress in delivering exceptional education to its students under his leadership.
