In its series of free Summer concerts, Entertain Glasgow is bringing another strong lineup to the area with two big names gracing the stage on Friday, July 26th.
The concert will be held at Beaver Creek Park, with gates opening at 5 p.m. with a variety of food trucks, as well as inflatables for families, ensuring a lively evening for all ages.
April Russell, Glasgow City Administrator, spoke on what attendees should expect.
Meredith Andrews will take the stage at 6p.m. Andrews grew up in Wilson, North Carolina, where she started singing when she was six years old. She attended Wilson Christian Academy, where she graduated.
In 2011, Andrews won two Dove Awards: the Worship Song of the Year award for “How Great Is the Love” and Praise And Worship Album of the Year for the same album.
The headliner for the evening will be Big Daddy Weave, a renowned name in the genre of contemporary Christian music.
The band formed in 1998 and has seen nine albums released since its beginning, with their latest single, “Let it Begin” being released only a few months ago.
Russell spoke on how excited the city is to have the opportunity to see both esteemed artists perform.
While residents and volunteers alike will be enjoying the festivities, it is important to note that events of this scale involve the dedication of multiple entities, this was evident as Russell summarized the endeavor of those that made this concert possible.
Music enthusiast should plan to bring a blanket or chair to enjoy an evening of worship and music comfortably.
While the concert brings together locals in community fellowship, attendees should also strive to remember the efforts of the men and women that bring us together.
As Andrews’ song, “Open Up the Heavens” says :
“You’re the reason we’re here
You’re the reason we’re singing.”
