WCLU News Brief
This year at the 120th Kentucky State Fair, the winning watermelon and pumpkin did not disappoint agricultural spectators.
The winning pumpkin weighed in at 1,133 pounds and was grown by Dwight Slone of Floyd County. The winning watermelon was 233.2 pounds. It was grown by Frank Mudd of Meade County.
Although those are impressive statistics, both were shy of last year’s winning numbers.

The 2024 winning watermelon was grown by a Meade County man.
