The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet District 3 has announced expected traffic impacts for the week of August 23 through August 30. As construction crews continue their work, motorists are advised to plan for lane closures and potential delays throughout the region. All work schedules are subject to change.
In Butler County, resurfacing and rehabilitation of Interstate 165 are ongoing. Crews are actively milling and resurfacing both directions of the roadway between mile markers 26.4 and 32.8. As part of the project, the speed limit has been reduced to 55 mph, and drivers are urged to exercise caution, as workers will be in close proximity to the road. This section of the interstate is slated for completion by November 1.
Simpson County is also seeing significant roadwork. Paving has been completed on KY 1008 from mile marker 0.0 to 6.5, though finishing work continues. Drivers can expect intermittent lane closures and delays during this time. Additionally, widening efforts are underway on KY 100 near the Trader’s Joe facility at mile marker 13.6 to 13.9, potentially causing further lane closures.
In Warren County, a long-term road closure is scheduled on Commonwealth Boulevard, where repairs to the bridge on KY 3145 will be taking place. The closure is set to begin the morning of September 4 and is expected to last until November 15. During this period, a signed detour will be in effect, directing traffic along Prosperity Road, Production Avenue, Fred Madison Road, Jody Richards Drive, and U.S. 68.
Motorists are encouraged to remain vigilant and adjust their travel plans accordingly as these construction projects progress.
