Levia Jane Lucas, age 90, of Leitchfield, passed away Tuesday, (October 29, 2024) at Bee Hive Homes of Leitchfield.
She was born on November 25, 1933 in Grayson County, KY, the daughter of the late Harlan and Eva Majors Smith.
She was a banker, having worked at First Federal Savings, First Federal Bank and then Integra Bank. She graduated from Caneyville High School as their Valedictorian. Jane loved watching basketball games, cooking, and spending time with her children and family; and especially the grandchildren. She married Arvil Lee Lucas on January 1, 1955. Arvil and Jane were loving companions and raised their three sons together. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Leitchfield.
She is survived by her sons, Michael Keith Lucas and his wife, Nancye, along with their children, Olivia Jaye, Elizabeth Brooke, and Eli Bratton Lucas, Barry Neal Lucas and his wife, Rebekah, and his children, Noah Logan, Caleb Bratcher, and Abigail Lee Lucas, Timothy Alan Lucas and his wife, Kimberly, and their daughter, Carla Louise Lucas; one sister-in-law, Mattie Smith; and special grandkids, Tyler, Allison, and Jenna Cantway. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Arvil Lee Lucas and five siblings.
Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Friday, (November 1, 2024) at the Dermitt Funeral Home in Leitchfield. Bro. Doug King will be officiating. Burial will be in the Mt. Vernon Cemetery.
Visitation will be at the Dermitt Funeral Home from 12:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday and from 9:00 a.m. Friday until time of services.
