Edward Ray Tomes

Edward Ray Tomes, age 65, of Fort Smith, AR, passed away Wednesday, (November 6, 2024) at Baptist Hospital in Fort Smith, AR.

He was born on February 19, 1959 in Topeka, KS, the son of James Robert and Nora Lee Fulkerson Tomes.

He enjoyed tinkering with lawn mowers and small motors, watching John Wayne movies, horseback riding, guitars, fishing, gardening, UK Basketball and spoiling his kids rotten. He was a member of the Little Flock Baptist Church.

Other than his parents, he is survived by his spouse of 45 years, Janette Stewart Tomes of Fort Smith, AR; three sons, Shonn Wilbanks (Brandi) of Muldrough, OK, TJ Tomes of Fort Smith, AR, & Travis Tomes (Sabrina) of Leitchfield, KY; one daughter, Mariah Stewart of Fort Smith, AR; five grandchildren, Taeya, Torrin, Trevor, Aubrey & Aja; three great-grandchildren; three sisters, Patricia Lobo (Humberto) of Denver, CO, Pamela Rizzo (Robert) of Louisville, KY, & Tabatha Thompson (Stephen) of Restin, Virginia. Several nieces and nephews also survive.

He was preceded in death by his sister Barbara Tomes and an infant brother, James Robert Tomes, Jr.

Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, (November 13, 2024) at the Little Flock Baptist Church Cemetery. Bro. Terry Priddy will be officiating.
