Emma Jean Hayden Boards

Nov 9, 2024 | 12:57 PM
Emma Jean Hayden Boards, was born, July 11, 1950, in Park City, Kentucky, a daughter of the late Monty E. Hayden and Anna V. Hayden. She was a graduated of Park City High School and a lifelong member of the Zion Hill Missionary Baptist Church where she was a former Choir member and Missionary.
Emma served the Park City Community as a former City Councilman and enjoyed working the election polls. She was formerly employed by Union Underwear “The Derby” and Carhartt as a seamstress.
Emma was never too busy to stop and talk on the telephone with family and friends. She enjoyed sewing in her spare time, and her sweet potato casserole and chicken and dumplings were the best you have ever eaten. If you had the pleasure of shopping with her, you knew Emma could shop until she dropped.
Emma and Shelby loved sitting on the front porch watching the sites of Park City and just spending that special time together. A beautiful soul, a love that was deep and pure, that is the legacy Emma leaves for her family and friends.

Through all her sickness and pain, Emma fought a good fight as she answered the call of her Heavenly Father to rest from all her labors as she passed from this world we know, on, Saturday, November 2, 2024, at the age of 74 years, 3 months, and 22 days.

To cherish the memory of Emma Jean Hayden Boards, she leaves her siblings, David L. (Vernie) Hayden, Donald L. (Joyce) Hayden, Dianna L. Hayden, Walter Dennis (Regina) Hayden; a niece she raised and loved as a daughter Heather Hayden; aunts, Mary Davidson and Modiste Rollins; a host of other nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.

Those preceding her in death along with her parents are, husband, Shelby Boards; brother, Owen (Shelvie) Hayden; nephew, Anthony Hayden; grandparents Charlie and Georgia Hayden that raised her, Arthur and Lena Bransford; special aunt, Lucille Hayden, Bonnie Jean Davis, Cleo Curry, and Daisy Hayden; uncles, Kemper Bransford and Orlandus Bransford.
