Gilbert Matteson, age 82 of Tompkinsville passed away November 18, 2024, at the Monroe County Medical Center.
Gilbert was born in North Carolina on April 4, 1942, a son of the late Verchie Lee (Stephenson) Berry and Marvin Gilbert Matteson. He married Louise Matteson on April 10, 1981, who survives of Tompkinsville, KY.
Gilbert is survived by a daughter, Melinda (Matteson) Pool, of Red Boiling Springs, TN; three sons, Mike Matteson, Nick Matteson, and Jeff Matteson, Gilbert is also survived by one brother, Joel Lewis Matteson and one sister, Jessie Lee Matthews and 29 grandchildren.
Other than his parents, he is preceded in death by brothers, Willis Dean Matteson, Ryley Carl Matteson, Martez Don Charles Matteson and Wade Andrew.
Funeral services will be held Sunday, November 24, at 1:00 p.m. at Yokley Trible Funeral Home, with burial to follow at Harlans Crossroads Cemetery.
Visitation is Sunday morning after 9:00 a.m. at Yokley Trible Funeral Home.
