Rhonda Sue Kugler, age 67 of Bee Spring, departed this life on Thursday, November 21, 2024 at her residence. The Ft. Wayne, Indiana native was born on December 15, 1956 to the late Elmer L. Strouse and Ida Rena Strouse, who survives. Rhonda lived a vibrant life dedicated to artistry and education, nurturing the minds and spirits of many.
A retired residential advisor and arts and humanities instructor at the Great Onyx Job Corps, Rhonda devoted herself to shaping the futures of countless young individuals. With her Bachelor of Science in Industrial Engineering and a Master’s Degree in Technical Illustration, she transformed complex ideas into beautiful expressions of art. She found solace in art, embracing the joy that came from drawing, coloring, painting, and practicing calligraphy. She was a member of Brownsville Missionary Baptist Church, and loved spending Sunday afternoons with her cherished family.
Besides her mother, Ida Rena, she leaves to honor her memory— her children, Travis Kugler (Amanda Houchens) of Rockfield, KY, Holly Kugler-Lathrop of Indianapolis, IN and Heidi Kugler (Michael) of Bee Spring; five grandchildren, Bradley Johns, Blake Raby, Morgan Raby, Keatyn Lathrop and Marcus Kugler; siblings, Linda Shrum (Bill) and Terry Strouse (Janet), along with several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was also preceded in death by two siblings, Larry and Nedda Strouse.
