Lavene England Ford

Lavene (England) Ford, 74, of Tompkinsville, KY, passed away Sunday, December 15, suddenly at her home.

Lavene was born in Tompkinsville, KY on December 24, 1949, a daughter of the late Frances (Brown) and John “Frank” England.

Lavene married Charles “Charlie” Ford on June 16, 1978 at the home of William Howard.

Lavene worked for KEY Industries for 30 years. After that, she worked at The Village Shop and Helping Monroe. Lavene had a love for people, from talking to them, to helping others, she was always a light for anyone that she encountered.

Lavene is survived by her husband, Charlie Ford; a daughter, Helen Ford, of Edmonton, KY and grandson, Alex Caffee.

She is also survived by two brothers, Paul England, and wife, Alice Faye, of Hestand, KY;  John England, of Gamaliel, KY, sisters, Glaydean Hopkins, of Tompkinsville, KY, Sue England, of Glasgow, KY and Carol Brynteson, of Minnesota, and brother-in-law, Randy Page, of Tompkinsville, KY.

Other than her parents, she is preceded in death by a sister, Channie Lee Page and a brother, Willie England.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 19th at Yokley Trible Funeral Home in Tompkinsville, KY, with burial to follow at Mt. Poland Cemetery.

Visitation is Wednesday, 4:30 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and Thursday, 8:00 a.m. until service time at 1:00 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Lavene’s memory may be made to Helping Monroe.
