Bennie Michael Shipley, 52, of Scottsville, KY died from a sudden heart attack on Christmas Eve 2024. He was born at T.J. Samson Community Hospital in Glasgow, KY on June 28, 1972. He moved to Nashville with his parents, Bennie Shipley and Shelia Shipley Biddy in 1974 where he grew up. As an adult, he had an odd sense of humor often playing YouTube videos of something he had found online laughing the whole time he shared it with you. He loved guns (the bigger the better), shooting guns at Ma’s, Jeep Wranglers, the Outdoors, Tank, Mexican food and dogs. He was a composite of many things but most of all he was loved by his family and the friends that knew him best. He will be missed
In 2012, he moved back to his hometown of Scottsville, KY marrying Kimberly Lane Shipley, a girl he had known and loved since the age of 12. In his life, Michael would become a father twice to sons, Kyle (by a prior marriage) and Kaleb (with wife Kim), a step daughter Kate that he claimed as his own and 3 other step children Kelly, Erica and Matt, all of whom he loved.
Before moving back to Kentucky in 2012, in high school he joined R.O.T.C. and later he would become a member of the Army National Guard training at Fort Knox, KY. He served as a tank commander at the National Guard division in Springfield, TN. Michael was proud to be a veteran and wore his Army cap every day for all to see.
