Victor W. Smalling, 90, of Bowling Green passed away at home in his favorite chair Wednesday, December 25, 2024 with his family by his side. Victor was a native of Monroe Co. and was born January 7, 1934. He was preceded in death by his parents Edward and Elka Smalling, sisters and their husbands Dorothy Celsor (Dewey)., Orbra Kurpewski (George) and Dema Gass (Shelby), his brothers infant Harrell Smalling, Murl Smalling (Jeanetta), Henry Smalling, Zenas Smalling, and Gerald Smalling.
Victor was a farmer and a former bus driver for 43 years for the Warren Co. School System, a former deputy sheriff for the Warren Co. Sheriff Dept. and a faithful member of Rich Pond Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife of nearly 70 years Shirley (Morris) Smalling, one son Harold Smalling (Sheila), two daughters Hilda Provost (Michael) and Terri Dickson (late husband David). One brother Wendell Smalling (Dorothy), two sisters in-law Marie Smalling and Shirley A. Smalling. Six precious grandchildren Jacey Kline (J. D.), Sarah Smalling (Eric), Harry Smalling, Daniel Smalling, Victoria Heinze (Jeffrey) and Grace Dickson. Six precious great-grandchildren, Dylon, Emmy, Anna, Alex, Brooks and Lena. Several nieces and nephews and cousins also survive.
Funeral services will be Saturday, December 28, 2024 at 11:00 am at J. C. Kirby and Son Lovers Lane Chapel. Visitation will be Friday from 3:00 pm until 7:00 pm and Saturday 9:00 am until time of services at the funeral home. Burial will be in Woodburn Cemetery.
