James Earl “Pinky” Rice, age 73, of Munfordville, KY entered into eternal rest on Friday, February 14, 2025. He was the son of the late Joe Howard and the late Hattie Rice. He was married to the late Linda Barnett Rice. He was a member of Morning Star Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. Warner T. Fishback.
In addition to his parents and beloved wife, James “Pinky” Rice was preceded in death by one sister, Wilma Maxey, who he always said was his best friend; two brothers, Melvin Rice and Johnny “Butchie” Rice.
He leaves to cherish his memories, his daughter, Stephanie Bradley (Bruce) of Rowletts, KY; two sons, James Lamonte Rice & Eric Rice (Radida) of Munfordville, KY; one grandson, Jermaine Rice of Louisville, KY; six sisters, Mary Sue Brodie (Henry) of Elizabethtown, KY, Rowena Bostick (Robert) of Munfordville, KY, Janice Rice of Munfordville, KY, Phyllis Rice Clark of Glasgow, KY, JoAnn Twyman Glenco of Indianapolis, IN, and Aileen Foster (Ronald) of Spring, Texas; four brothers, Floyd Child of Los Angeles, California, Willie (Pete) Rice of Louisville, KY, Eugene Rice (Terri) of Louisville, KY, and Mitchell Rice of Central City, KY; eight grandchildren, Jaden, Cameron, Raderic, A’Ryiah, Julia, Monique, Jalescia, Brice; four great-grandchildren, Ralen, Bryleigh, Miya, Rashod; several nieces, nephews, and a host of other relatives and friends also survive.
The family will receive friends and loved ones on Friday, February 21, 2025 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Brooks Funeral Home. A homegoing service will begin at 1 p.m. at Brooks Funeral Home with Dr. Michael Rice and Warner T. Fishback officiating. Burial will follow at Morning Star Baptist Church Cemetery in Munfordville, KY.
