Buying bags of oranges in the next three weeks at Food Lion stores will help provide nutritious meals to those in the local community who need them.
For the next three weeks, Food Lion will donate five meals to Feeding America and partnered, local food banks for every purchase of a specially marked orange bag.
Additionally, 100% of all cash donations will directly support Feeding America and its partner food banks.
“Our neighbors deserve access to nutritious foods,” said Kevin Durkee, Manager, Food Lion Feeds, Food Lion. “When customers purchase a bag of oranges, they help nourish individuals and families in their community who are experiencing hunger. This campaign is always impactful for local communities because it gets food directly into the hands of those facing food insecurity. We’re grateful to have so many customers who support and join our efforts to provide local families with nutritious meals.”
A person can either purchase specially marked orange bags or contribute cash donations in-store or online via Food Lion To Go.
The campaign runs from Feb. 26 to Mar. 18.
