Mark Hanks has been indicted by a Barren County grand jury on charges of first-degree rape, and first-degree sodomy.

The 26-year-old was arrested on Saturday, Jan. 25, by the Barren County Sheriff’s Office after a 7-year-old alleged, during an interview with the Barren River Area Child Advocacy Center, that Hanks “exposed her to sexual contact” earlier that month. His case was forwarded to a grand jury on Feb. 3 by district judge Gabe Pendleton.

According to the Barren County Detention Center, Hanks has a $100,000 cash bond, and his next court date is scheduled for March 10 at 10 a.m.
