Helen “Frances” Farris Williams

Helen “Frances” Farris Williams, 90, passed away peacefully March 9, 2025 at Hospice House of Southern Kentucky.

She was born on December 7, 1934 in Glasgow, KY to Clyde and Ruby Lee Gillenwater Farris, formerly of Scottsville, KY.

Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of seventy years, Cletus E. Williams, along with his parents Arnold and Vertie Buchanon Williams of the Halifax Community of Allen County.

Frances attended Scottsville High School and was a longtime member of Faith Missionary Baptist Church in Bowling Green, KY where she served as the pianist for many years. She worked briefly at Cutler Hammer but spent most of her life making a happy home for Cletus and her two sons. In her younger years, she accompanied her father throughout Kentucky and Tennessee to many church

meetings, revivals and special services playing the piano as he led singing for the congregations.

She is survived by her two sons, Rick Williams (Deborah) and Ron Williams (Sandy) of Bowling Green; Granddaughters, Casey Rouse (Matt), Kristen Gregory (Taylor), Bethany Milburn (Shane) and Amanda Robinson (Micah); Great-Grandchildren, Hunter and Easton Rouse, Jackson and Beau Gregory, and Adelaide, Charlotte, Chip and Johnny Milburn.

J.C. Kirby Broadway Chapel has been entrusted to oversee the arrangements. Cremation was requested by the deceased. Visitation with friends and family will be Thursday, March 13th from 4 PM until 8 PM at the funeral home. The funeral service will take place at 10 AM on Friday, March 14th at Kirby’s Broadway Chapel. Expressions of sympathy can be made to Faith Missionary Baptist Church, 921
