Barren County bounced back from a season-opening loss with a run-rule win over Grayson County.
After a scoreless first inning, Briley Aidala drew a walk to start the bottom of the second inning. Audrey Jones entered to run for her. Lizzie Smith hit a ground ball and reached base on an error. Jones advanced to third on the error.
Kyra Moore followed with a single that drove in Jones for the first run of the game. Josey Moore drove in Smith with a ground out to third.
Barren added a third in the bottom of the fourth inning. The Trojanettes ended the game in the bottom of the fifth by scoring seven runs.
Shea Bogue picked up the win in the circle. She struck out six Grayson batters and allowed no hits. The only base runner in the game for the Lady Cougars was on a hit by pitch.
Kyra Moore led the Trojanettes at the plate with three hits. Josey Moore was 2-for-3 with three runs batted in.
