A former Franklin, resident, Dr. Carl Hinton, age 70 of Bowling Green, passed away Wednesday, March 19, 2025 at the Medical Center in Bowling Green.
Visitation will take place in Princeton, KY at Morgan’s Funeral Home on Sunday, March 23 2025 from 3pm until 7pm. Visitation will take place again on Monday, March 24, 2025 from 3pm until 7pm at Crafton Funeral Home in Franklin and Tuesday from 8am until funeral service time at 11am at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Sulphur Spring Cemetery.
A native of El Paso, Texas, he was the son of the late Charles Hinton and Mary Hoffman Hinton. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by brothers – Chuck Hinton and Brad Beck.
He was a member of Center Pointe Church in Bowling Green. Carl joined the Army and started medical school in 1979. He finished internship and residency at Walter Reed Army Medical Center in 1988. He left the Army in 1996 and was in civilian practice in Franklin from 1996 until 2002 then practiced in Princeton, KY from 2002 until 2018. He worked at Trigg County Hospital from 2017 until his retirement in 2021. He played in a Bluegrass Band from 1996 until 2004. Since retirement he has served as Professor Adjunct with University of Kentucky College of Medicine in Bowling Green. He believed Jesus is the light of the world.
He is survived by his wife – Gail Hinton of Bowling Green; children – Luke Hinton (Kendall) of Westfield, Indiana, Danielle Hinton (Isaac) of Nashville, TN, Robert Scott Lee (Kristie) of Oakland, KY and Hope Wade (Wayne) of Smiths Grove, KY; grandchildren – Pax Hinton, Story Hinton, Maeve Hinton, Megan Varner (Griffen), Nakia Duncan (Tieran), Ella Lee, Kingston Lee, Asher Lee, Kara Lee, Hayden Isenberg and Jaxon Wade; great grandchild – Jasper Varner.
