Ralph Lee Abney, 80, Smiths Grove, passed away Thursday, March 20, 2025 at Glenview Health & Rehab in Glasgow. A native of Oklahoma, he was the son of the late William Frank Abney and Vear Rachel Trammel Abney
Along with being a minister, Ralph was a retired supervisor over lawn care at LifeSkills. He was a member of the Buck Creek Sportsman Club who loved to coon hunt and fish. He was an avid UK Wildcat fan and for the last several years had been a transporter for members of the Amish Community.
Survivors include his wife Judy Carol; six children: Timmy Abney (Jana), Michael Abney, Mindy Forshey (Bob Smith), Dorothy Richey, Kenneth Abney, and Crystal Lowe (Jeffrey); one brother, Felix Abney (Eleanor) of Mt. Sterling, Ohio; three sisters: Josie Hughes of Glasgow, Marty Buckner of Arizona, and Leota Lewis (James) of Davenport, Oklahoma; ten grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two children: Tony Abney and Darrell Richey; a granddaughter, Alicia Abney; and by one brother, George Abney.
Funeral services will be held 1:00 p.m. Tuesday at the Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home with burial in the Glasgow Municipal Cemetery. Visitation will be from 3 to 7 p.m. Monday and continue Tuesday morning at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations are requested to Kosair for Kids.
