The Glasgow Scotties had a shot to pick up their first win of the season, but fell short in the top of the seventh inning at Franklin-Simpson.

The Scotties entered the top of the final inning trailing the Wildcats, 6-4. After a ground out, Carter Hodges singled to left field. Hudson Gumm followed with a ball he hit to right field. Hodges was thrown out going to second, but Gumm was safe at first on the fielder’s choice.

Evan Templin followed with a single that moved Gumm to second. Bam Nolley drew a walk to load the bases. Next, Steven Garrett drew a walk to score Gumm from third. The bases remained loaded, but a strike out ended the game.

Hodges, Landon Martin and Austin Parker combined on the mound to strike out six and allow five hits.

The game was part of the 2A regional schedule.
